Art can be intriguing, revealing and fun for both the artist and the viewer.

Why Painting?

I began painting in acrylics upon my retirement from teaching. My lifelong interest in colour and design had previously found expression in set design and decoration. Expecting only amusement, I discovered new eyes through which to view the world and a new desire to be creative and share my observations with people everywhere. Coming to life in my studios in Winnipeg and Victoria Beach, my paintings are realistic, sometimes abstract, and often impressionistic. I focus mainly on the wonders of nature, but I sometimes like to depict the amusing and often puzzling behaviour of humans.
